In the parliamentary elections held recently, Sri Lanka People’s Party (SLPP) led by Mahinda Rajapaksa, won in 145 constituencies, bagging a total of 150 seats with its allies, a two-thirds majority in the 225-member Parliament. Mahinda will be sworn in as the new Prime Minister for the fourth time during a ceremony at the historic Buddhist temple of Kelaniya, Colombo.
